About Manna Ministry of Tidewater

Feeding Families, Fostering Faith

Manna Ministry unexpectedly began at the start of COVID-19 as a food-drive to help six families that were struggling to make ends meet. Our one-day food-drive evolved into a week-long collection that provided more food than the six families could use.

After hearing about the work God was doing through our food-drive, the UP Center and The United Way of South Hampton Roads reached out to see if we were able to assist more families.

Like every believer who doesn’t know the answer to a question we responded in faith.

”Send them all.”

Our mission is to stand in the gap for families as they wait for long-term assistance from other agencies. We provide food and household essentials to families that do not have transportation and encourage a growing relationship with Jesus.

MANNA

MANNA: (noun) the substance miraculously supplied from Heaven as food to the Israelites in the wilderness, an unexpected or gratuitous benefit, spiritual nourishment.

Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written, ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’” - John 6: 31

“And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. - Deuteronomy 8:3

“The people of Israel ate the manna forty years, till they came to a habitable land.” - Exodus 16:35

“When the people of Israel saw it, they said to one another, “What is it?” For they did not know what it was. And Moses said to them, “It is the bread that the Lord has given you to eat.” - Exodus 16:15

“And he rained down on them manna to eat and gave them the grain of heaven. Man ate of the bread of the angels; he sent them food in abundance.” - Psalm 78:24
